Will The Wall crumble?

After a fairly ordinary Test series here in Sri Lanka, all eyes are now firmly on the Fab Four of Indian batting: is it time for them to pack up their bats and go? While public opinion seems to be tilting in that direction, the BCCI bosses are not yet giving up on them. Particluarly interesting is the case of Rahul Dravid a.k.a "The Wall" ,especially since Ganguly has not been selected for the Irani Trophy Rest of India team. This is a solid indicator by the outgoing selectors thatGanguly wont be possibly picked for the upcoming test series against the Kangaroos. Most Probably it will be Kaif or Badrinath who will be taking that position since Rohit sharma is off colour recently or even Raina.Anyway let us get back to Dravid.
His averages for the past 2 yrs has been not quite there with his previous years ,especially from 2001 to 2006.With a bad series in Austrailia and a disastorous outing against Mendis ,sorry srilanka in the last 7-8 months and a average in the 30's (if i am correct) in the last 12 moths,he will be under tremendous pressure in this scenario. Its even more interesting to note that he was the Captain of the Indian team just 13 months back.Amazing, truly amazing how the circle of cricketing life comes around to one of the most dependable true team man that India has ever produced. Its not that youngsters like Raina,Badrinath,Rohit sharma or Kaif has been knocking the slection doors with exceptional performances but it is more to do with Dravid's own form.
As a well wisher ,I truly hope he comes back with a bang because i dont think there is any perfect replacement as of now.It has to be a slow phasing out of the Fab4 with these youngsters so that we will have a new Fab4 pretty soon.
All the Best ,Rahul ....

I believe, it is time for Dravid to retire and give youths a chance... I will be more happy to see badrinath, raina, rohit sharma play for India, rather than those big trios playing and losing to AUSSIES....

Dravid and his never say die attitude is needed against aussies,we need to have a smooth transition from the seniors to the Rohit's and raina's.Yes,the Wall will stay solid, atleast for the time being

I'm realy out of touch with the current happenings in the world of cricket. But I would like to say that Dravid is indeed an asset for the team when it comes to playing test cricket. He has always been the wall and ofccourse the pillar in holding the Indian team together in difficult situations throughout the years. He ofcourse needs a come back in his career through this test series against the aussies, given his good track record in testing situations. What about VVS Laxman? He used to be a good against the aussies as well. But I guess he's been out of form as well recently. Also a big cheers and hurray to Sachin, who is on his way to achieve the batsman to score the most number of runs in Test cricket, just behind Brian Lara.

Although it will be nice to see Dravid back in form, I don't think it will happen. Because Aussies know that he is in disarray and will try to leverage on that.
About a new Fab4, if it ever happens, we have to start at some point may be sooner the better.
So I would put my votes for a couple of new faces in batting squad from 3rd test at the least.

Well,I could envision the indian innings dravid making 19 of 104 balls ,staying there for 4 hours and not rotating the strike ,shewag, gambhir, sachin etc gets pretty irritated ,has a swish at wide balls outside off ,gets nick and walks back ..ind 61 for 4 by lunch

But seriously if Rahul Dravid has to create an impression,he should ROTATE THE STRIKE.THAT WOULD BE THE KEY.Btw i voted for his less than 10 average

Personally I never liked Dravid. But one has to really acknowledge his consistency when it comes to remaining not out,no matter against which side. Ultimately,in test cricket thats what matters, isn't it? Hope he punishes d Kangaroos badly this time......

I think there is some cricket left for Dravid at least in Test Cricket. Its a question of one good innings against Aussies.. he will score 2 tons in this series for sure...
